Lifetime of coronavirus on money and phones named
Experts from Australia have published the results of another study. Their discovery scared many, because scientists managed to find out that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that provokes the coronavirus, can remain viable on some surfaces for 28 days. These included glass and banknotes.
Today, a lot of attention is paid to the ventilation of premises with the help of a variety of drugs, but experts have warned that we also need to monitor what we touch. During the study, the SARS-CoV-2 strain was used, which was previously suspended using a special solution. This solution resembles the mucous membranes in the human body in its characteristics. The concentration of the virus in the solution was used, which is usually present on the mucous membranes of a person with coronavirus and who is in a rather serious condition.
After that, the solution was placed on several different surfaces and left to dry completely at different temperatures. It is worth noting that the specialists have eliminated even minimal exposure to light. After drying, samples were taken one hour, a day, three and then every week, up to 28 days. On most surfaces, the virus remained at 20 degrees for 28 days. Moreover, most of the samples were found precisely on a smooth surface, plastic banknotes, glass of mobile phones. This was stated by Debbie Eagles, who took part in this study. At the same time, at a higher temperature, the virus did not live very long. The maximum time of his life was 21 days if there was a temperature in the range of 30-40 degrees.
