WHO announced the terms of pandemic neutralization
The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus expressed the hope that the humanity will be able to neutralize the COVID-19 in less than two years.
The head of WHO recalled that the pandemic of Spanish flu in 1918 lasted two years. As for the COVID-19, due to the huge number of connections in the world, the risk of virus transmission is higher, than in was hundred years ago, said the director-general. But he added that at the same time, the humanity has technologies and knowledge to defeat the virus.
“that’s why we hope to neutralize the pandemic in less than two years, especially if we join our forces and show national unity and global solidarity,” said Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus. He also expressed the hope for the vaccine creation and full application of all tools to combat the disease.
