Scientists found hormones that protect against coronavirus
Scientists admitted that men are more vulnerable to COVID-19 due to higher number of proteins (with their help the coronavirus gets into the body) in their blood. And women suffer less due to their sex hormones.
A joint study showed that estrogens can prevent the virus from getting into the cells.
The scientists conducted the study in mice and concluded that estrogens weaken the ability of the virus to get into the body cells. They concluded that these estrogens features may make them the potential treatment.
“We are providing data that may be useful for future development of therapeutic interventions”, they say.
