WHO reports on the second COVID-19 wave in Europe
Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe, reports on the increase of new COVID-19 cases in Europe.
The increase is observed in 30 countries, according to him. Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe noted that the accelerated spread of the virus lead to the second wave in 11 countries. He believes that if it is not stopped, this will significantly affect health systems of these European countries.
On June 22, WHO reported on the record number of new COVID-19 cases in the world. It is said that more than 180 thousand people were infected with new strain.
The head of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of South Korea, Jeon Eun Kyung declared that the second wave was registered in Seoul and some of its suburbs. The reason is series of infections in May, she believes.
