COVID-19 and flu: what if they attack simultaneously

This year the period of flu fully coincides with the pandemic, which only worsens the situation.

Experts have already thought how to deal with this situation. All quarantine measures, of course, affect the flu. But still, any restrictions release may cause dangerous mix.

Children are more likely to get infected with flu, but the number of children, infected with COVID-19 is really low. The virus will start to spread in schools and then will get to children’s homes. The situation will be dangerous when the child will be infected with both viruses at the same time. And it the old people will get this “mixture” the death rate will drastically increase.

The symptoms of COVID-19 and flu are similar, that’s why doctors cannot diagnose both diseases. Even in case they detect both viruses, another problem arises: there are two different medicines for coronavirus and flu, and no information on their combination.

It is worth to note, that with the COVID-19, the number of flu cases decreased. Experts believe that it is connected with the quarantine measures: masks wearing, social distancing and hand washing. Also there is a theory that only one virus can dominate, but still, it is just a theory.
