A vitamin that will help to quickly defeat coronavirus
Scientists believe that vitamin D will help to defeat the coronavirus much faster. This is the conclusion reached by experts from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
When it enters the body, the virus stops the production of vitamin D, due to which the rate of infection only increases, and the symptoms become more pronounced. In the case of a separate intake of this vitamin, recovery is much faster.
Vitamin D binds to several receptors in the VDR system. In the body of infected people, the amount of vitamin D drops by half, which indicates a negative effect from the coronavirus.
Some study took place in India, involving 76 patients. Some people took cholecaluiferol (a prescription form of vitamin D), and some took pacifiers (the researchers expected a placebo effect). As a result, of the 26 patients who received the placebo, 13 were referred to the intensive care unit and 2 died. Of those people who took vitamin D, only one was sent to the intensive care unit. There were no deaths.
Almost all scientists from different parts of the world get the same results. For example, Boston University also reported on the effectiveness of vitamin D. The lower the concentration of this vitamin in the body, the higher the chances of contracting coronavirus.
A certain amount of the vitamin is produced in the skin when exposed to sunlight. Experts advise regularly walking in the sunlight for half an hour between 10:00 and 15:00. Vitamin D is also abundant in foods: fish, butter, cheese, egg yolk, chanterelle mushrooms, yeast.
