Another virus, a relative of COVID-19, was found in bats

Recently, another dangerous virus was found in bats. This new virus is similar to coronavirus.

Scientists have found two different genomes in bats. One of them is almost similar to SARS-CoV-2 strain, which has become the reason of world’s pandemic. Experts say that this discovery can confirm the fact that the virus has natural origin.

Specialists say that the recent studies may prove that the virus, which provoked the pandemic, could evolve naturally. Most likely, it all started with bats. After the virus evolved in the body of the host animal, it got all needed mutations to evolve into the severe pandemic.

Earlier the scientists said that there were inserts of amino acids, such as S1 and S2, in the strain’s genome. It may indicate on the artificial modification of the virus in the laboratory. But taking into account all recent results, this version turns out to be completely wrong.
