The pandemic will last for at least two years

American scientists claim that the humanity will be fighting the pandemic for at least several years, as the COVID-19 turned out to be more contagious and dangerous than the flu. From time to time the outbreaks will appear throughout the world.

The worst scenario supposes that the new outbreak will appear in the fall 2020. The transmission of the virus will stop as soon as the R0 reproduction index is less than 1. Now it is from 1,4 to 5,7. It means that every infected person infects from 1 to 6 people. Such range is connected with unsettled system of testing citizens for COVID-19 in most countries.

The authorities in some countries were able to reduce this index. However, scientists noted that the virus cannot be stopped until 60-70% of people will have the immunity, and this means the infection of people.

Different scenarios suppose small and large outbreaks during the next two years. Anyway, the strain will occur in different countries, so the authorities have to be ready.
