The new coronavirus symptom affects mainly young people

Dermatologists more often talk about the rash that appears in some people during the illness. This is one of the new symptoms confirmed by the scientists. Dermatological problems in infected people mainly affects young people.

“The skin is the largest organ in human body and in some cases the rash may be the symptom of COVID-19 infection”, says Bruce H. Thiers, president of the American Academy of Dermatology.

At the same time, doctors say that not every rash is a COVID-19 symptom. If someone is struggling with a recurring rash that is not itchy or burning, this is probably isn’t connected with coronavirus infection. But if you notice the rash for the first time, contact your doctor to get the COVID-19 test, says dermatologist Howard Lancer.

Scientists notice that “purple skin changes” on legs are common in infected children and adolescents.
