The head of WHO tells about 4 pandemic scenarios
The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adan Gebreyesus, said that reaction of different countries on pandemic may be described with the help of 4 scenarios. But unfortunately, not all of them succeed.
Two scenarios of four are successful, the head of WHO believes.
The first: the authorities quickly responded to the first cases of infection and were able to detain the outbreak. These countries are: countries in Southeast Asia, the Pacific, the Caribbean and Africa.
The second: typical for Europe. The outbreaks were restrained by the authorities, the citizens strictly observed all requirements to prevent the spread of the virus.
The third: countries who have defeated the first wave of the infection and now face the second wave as the have already weakened all preventive measures.
The fourth: rapid increase in the number of infected people. This situation occurred in America, South Asia and several African countries.
“The virus is still number one enemy, but the response of some countries doesn’t reflect it. The only virus goal is to find new people to infect”, he says.
WHO believes that the authorities don’t infirm the citizens correctly, so that they do not observe rules of hygiene and physical distance. So the pandemic has only one way – to become more severe.
