Coronavirus immunity in COVID-19 recovered drastically decreased in three months
The immunity in COVID-19 recovered drastically decreased in three months, say scientists at King’s College London.
In recent study took part more than 90 patients and health workers of two London hospitals. The scientists concluded that people had strong immunity after three the symptoms had appeared. The immunity was very strong in 60% of the participants.
But in 3 months only 17% of the participants had strong immunity to COVID-19. The number of antibodies decreased in 23 times, in some patients, antibodies were almost difficult to detect during the same time.
Lead author of the study, Katie Dores, suggested that this conclusion is important due to the attempts of coronavirus vaccine creation. “If the infection eliminates the antibodies in three months, the same situation will probably be with the vaccine”. She added that people may require second vaccination as the one dose isn’t enough.
