New coronavirus strain is detected

Today, a lot of countries starts to declare that they have neutralized coronavirus. But the fact is that it hasn’t disappear but mutate. This information is confirmed by specialists from the La Jolla Institute of Immunology. They found out new strain which got into America from Europe. It is called G614.

Previous strain was D614, but new mutation is more common today. It is worth to note that scientists found it just now, but it started to spread at the beginning of the year. In February, both viruses were spreading throughout the world, but at the end of the spring, the mutated pathogen infected 90% of patients.

“Alterations were found in the amino acids of thorns, with the help of which, the virus gets into the body cells. In addition, the new strain is more dangerous as it affects airway load higher. So, the risk of infection is 9 times higher”, the study says.

Specialists also compared the reaction of viruses on antibodies and found out that the new strain can be cured with serum from the blood of the recovered people. It is known that the first outbreak was in China, but recently, the Chinese authorities stated that the outbreak started outside the country.

One of the Chinese diplomats said that the first outbreak was recorded in China, but there is no evidence that the source of the infected is located in China.
