Czech Ministry of Health announces overcoming crisis caused by COVID-19
Since May 26, the Czech government has decided to soften the border regime: cars will be inspected selectively, however, people will need to present certificates confirming that they do not have a coronavirus infection.
The Czech Republic overcame the crisis caused by the coronavirus, the head of the Ministry of Health Adam Vojtech made a statement on Monday.
Speaking at a press conference, he emphasized that the country managed to put the healthcare system through the crisis without problems. “The COVID crisis has remained with us, now we need to tackle the tasks that lie ahead,” said Voitech.
The tasks of the near future are to ensure financial stabilization of the system, to deal with problems in individual hospitals, as well as with the costs that arose in connection with the coronavirus.
The head of the Czech Ministry of Health confirmed that the government decided on May 26 to ease the regime at the borders: cars will be examined selectively, however, people will need to present certificates confirming that they do not have a coronavirus infection. At the same time, Voitech drew attention to the fact that he plans to achieve the complete abolition of border control from June 8, emphasizing that it is also about canceling the requirement for a coronavirus certificate.
Another representative of the Czech government – the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tomas Perishechek – said that on Tuesday he plans to hold talks with the foreign ministers of Austria, Germany, Greece, Poland and Slovakia, at which they will discuss the opening of borders between these countries. The head of the Czech Foreign Ministry wants to agree that from mid-June, residents of these countries can travel without having to take tests and go to quarantine after the trip.
