COVID-19 vaccine tested in humans in the USA

Moderna, an American biotechnology company, has announced the successful completion of the first phase of clinical trials of a coronavirus vaccine. Testing the drug on volunteers began last month.

According to Moderna, after vaccination, the number of antibodies of the test participants, depending on the dose of the drug, either exceeded the corresponding indicator in the blood of patients who had had COVID-19, or was at the same level. At the initial stage, the vaccine showed itself to be safe; no complications were found in volunteers. According to the company, the finalization of the clinical trial protocol will begin in July.

The Reuters news agency reports that after posting information on successful trials, Moderna’s stock prices rose by a quarter. Recall that according to recent data, more than 4.6 million cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the world, more than 311 thousand people have died.
